We often have customers ask us when is the best time to buy a swing set so it can be installed for the spring or summer when families spend more time outside. Our peak selling season is March through August, but you can buy a swing set or playset all year round. Here are more questions you might have about the best time to buy a swing set for your backyard.
What is the average amount of time it takes for a swing set to be delivered and installed?
The typical lead time for buying a swing set is 3-4 weeks from placing your order to delivery/installation. So, if you want to have a backyard swing set installed by the time school lets out for summer vacation, the best time to buy a swing set is in the middle of May. If you want a playset in place for a Fourth of July celebration, then the best time to buy would be at the start of June. There is the possibility of getting a playset ordered and installed in a 1-2 week timeframe, but that will require additional rush charges.
Do I need to take delivery of my swing set as soon as I purchase it?
Our customers can put their playset installation on hold up to a year. So a family can buy a swing set in February and delay installation until May or June. This allows customers to take advantage of end-of-season sales or specials and get their backyard playset in place during the spring or summer.
Is there a best time to buy a swing set if I’m looking for big savings?
Many of our playset dealers are still selling swing sets in the “off-season,” which runs from September – February. They offer discounted prices on their display models and also holiday specials and combo packages.
I’m creating a custom designed playset instead of choosing a standard model. Will my playset take longer to build and deliver?
Many customers will begin their swing set purchase by looking at a standard unit but soon start reconfiguring to their needs. Most of the time their final purchase comes to us as a custom set. Because our manufacturing process is set up to build every playset “to order,” it will not extend the timeline for delivering a final product.
Could delivery and installation be delayed because of weather?
It’s no secret that spring weather can be a little unpredictable. It can be high in the 70s on Monday, snow in the forecast by Thursday, and muddy swampy yards for the next two weeks. Weather plays a big factor in scheduling playset installation, especially in April and May. We avoid installation on wet, muddy yards where our equipment may cause further damage. For that reason, we suggest you check your local weather forecast to determine the best time to buy a swing set and make sure that weather conditions have stabilized.
